The answer is option B. But I think all the options are acceptable. Am I right?

I would say so. In the right context, I guess all of them could work (but I don't like some hmm).
Of course, that is one of those exercises where you are supposed to think of the most common context, which would allow you to apply the prescriptive simplified rule you have
