My Research Interests

Could you please tell me if the below composition is grammatical and formal? Beside that, I was asked to provide my specific interests in research and industrial exposure briefly and point to point. Did I qualify to that expectation?

When I was in my last year of undergraduate studies, I started developing interest in construction ,planning and management, specifically in project scheduling, budgeting and management at execution stage. During this period, I took a course related to project planning called 'Primavera P6', which helped me understand scheduling of different activities during a project. In my country, engineers use those same conservative methods through out construction process which has long become obsolete in the west due to production of detrimental chemicals and excessive time consumption. Pollution and construction waste due to on-site construction has become a vital problem here. This increased my curiosity to also study methods reducing carbon dioxide emissions during construction.
After my graduation, I worked in three organizations. One of which was a consultancy firm while the other two were private contractors. There, I learned to make financial and technical proposals for different firms, making bills of quantities (BOQ) and step-by-step management in supervising construction projects.
I have heard of Dr. Mohamed Al-Hussein's great research findings in optimizing construction operations from the very first stage to project completion, which includes scheduling, budgeting and general project management. Moreover, his techniques in reducing Carbon dioxide emissions and diminishing construction waste are incredible. I would be very glad to work with him in either of these areas.
