My question is regarding entry to/entry into our competition
Hello
The sentence is:
"We have news regarding your entry to our Playstation Overlord Competition."
As an editor, I changed it to "...regarding your entry into our Playstation Overlord Competition."
However I'm entire sure if this is correct. For example, you enter into a competition rather than "Enter to a competition", but in the above top example I don't know if the original "to" is wrong, or if either is correct. Many thanks in advance.
Top answer
'To' does indeed sound incorrect. I also would edit it to 'into' or simply ' in ', which is even more common though grammatically suspect.
