My Pronunciation Exercise
Hi, everybody!
I am doing a pronunciation exercise here.
My goal is to sound like a native speaker.
Colloquial Conversation
Yesterday I brought over a housewarming gift, but Armand started acting really weird, and then he practically kicked me out! I tried to, sort of, peek into his house, but everything was so dark inside that I couldn’t really get a good look. The whole thing really creeped me out.

Death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away.

That's great. Be careful with the pitch shift at the end of speech units. If the pitch is dropping, make sure the pitch drops to the same degree when you do it.

- You might want to try playing back the speech you are imitating at a low volume and speaking along with the original speech to check if your timing is the same.
- Once you start to feel more confident with the exercises then try recording yourself reading the transcript of a recording before you listen to the speaker reading it and see how your pronunciation differs from the original when you haven't heard the original recording as an initial guide.
