My process of interships

For university students, internship is the key to marking the importance of an end as well as a new beginning, finishing for the time of student, learning, making friends, and sitting in class while starting a new beginning, a new route with new steps, the achievements or failures waiting for us in front. As with many other students, I am now a senior student at Hanoi University of Industry, which has provided me with information that I have used in my life, and I am now six weeks into my student time after completing a six-week internship. During my internship, I took a lot of time to find and choose a place that suited me, looking for an internship that could help me next time and then I found the Amate English center, where I had dedicated my knowledge after four years of college. The Amate English Center is an English Center established since 2017 and currently the center has developed and grown with 3 institutions. I am presently practicing at the third institution with an address in 485 Hoang Quoc Viet, Cau Giay, Ha Noi. The center operates for teaching in the three main areas: English communication, IELTS, TOEIC. The center was managed under the leadership of General Director Le Ngoc Hai and Director Nguyen Thi Dieu Quynh. The center has a team of teachers with IELTS 7.5-8.0 certificates who have many years of experience in teaching and having a lot of teachers who have had time to study and work in foreign environments. The center has trained a lot of students with IELTS 7.5 and TOEIC up to 800+, so that the center can develop sustainably.

For the work at the center, the division is clearly divided for each part and there is no confusion or overlap between departments. And I’ve been working as a sale staff at the center, my main task is looking for students who have potential and need to learn english based on social network sites such as Facebook, Instagram or maybe Zalo and other apps like Twister, besides, I’ve also been provided with some basic dât to take it as a marker for finding students. I work under the guidance and direction of General Director Le Ngoc Hai and Director Nguyen Thi Dieu Quynh along with the colleague in third institution as Ms. Dang Thuy Dung ( Sale staff- Manager of third institution) and Ms. Hoang Thi Xoan ( assistant of third institution). The center will take the cold data and force me to find students based on this data. My job is not very relaxing and it’s a job that requires perseverance and ability to talk logically to the students who have no need to learn English to turn into students learned at the center. Sometimes managers also give me some other jobsass consulting for some students who have good basics about english and want to learn more about grammar or academic learning to take IELTS and TOEIC exam. At that time I have to interview and talk to these students in english to understand and communicate with them most fully and most effectively. Therefore I’m not only learning the skills of sales but also improving my knowledge of English, using the ability to speak english skill. And in the process of working I’ve had five students registered and studied at the center as well as a lot of students I’ve been consulting with during the process. I really feel that this is a potential job, which will help me to develop myself in a diverse way.

In the course of the internship at the center, I discovered a lot of my advantages. I realize that I’m a person who has the ability to speak and convince others and the ability to communicate information to an audience. However, the first time I’ve had a lot of uncertainty about this job so I had no enthusiastic behavior, but after 1 week, I got used to this job so I worked with a good sense of humor and have always been active and learned experiences with guidance from the colleague ahead . I’ve always been positive about participating in programs like Noel or New Year’s Day or maybe even though lunch is not full but it gave me a good sense of humor. Because my job doesn't have a lot of teamwork, so I’m mostly independent with something that I don't know and it’s hard to answer. I alway to ask the brothers in an active way to study and learn more experience in work. In the my working process, I’ve asked and made a sign- up contract at the center total 5 students and also many students who asked me consultant between learning English at center and their university, with level of KPI that center offer, I completely achieved this level and received commission and encouragement from my colleague at the center.

Besides, I’ve seen a few weaknesses that need improving in the working process. Sometimes I’m very confident about my degree of work compared to my colleague, and sometimes I’ve been consulting wrong when I haven’t read the conditions of the center, that is the bad point which I need to improve to become better. Moreover, this job was very boring for me at first, and there were not so many conditions to develop myself and other skills which I had studied at my university so the first time I did not focus on my work I just took it to finish this internship, but then I realized that I was actually wrong, and I was completely unaware of the nature of the work , so I need to improve my personal thinking when I did not learn and work about it.

Finally, I have some small proposals for the university as well as training institutions. The university should be able to find the training place and link to enterprise more and more and need to ease the practice scope and professional internship for the next internship course. Because if the university doesn’t support as much as communicate with many of internship institution, it will make students meet difficulties to get and find work to internship also choose wrong internship jobs that are not suitable with their major . Or students will be hard in the internship process, just like I had to take a month to search, choose and decide the center where I have been doing an internship. Maybe a lot of students didn’t find the internship place and had to wait for the next internship course and maybe they will graduate in one year compared with their friends . Here are the things that the university needs to improve in the next period and the university should focus on the internship for students . As for enterprise , for the AMATE center, I really feel that it’s a worthy place for an internship and longer-term commitment in the future with a highly team in business, sales and as much as teaching me in my internship period. Besides, I’m also going to need to have a few points of attention for that center which is about infrastructure and how to treat employees. I really don’t know if the center has regulations for interns or not because sometimes I find that the center still keeps back and the travel regulations for interns are not good. The infrastructure at the third institution, Hoang Quoc Viet, was established for nearly one year, so the infrastructure is really lacking, and it’s not quite beautiful compared with the two remaining institutions . But it’s just my personal opinion, and it’s like the objective comments of the center. And to close my internship process, I really feel very happy about having an internship time at the center.
