My polish friend asks about passive

She said "Our meting WILL BE STARTED tomorrow". I've responded it should be "will start". She insists 'Why? It's the passive voice so must be IS STARTED"

It is very uncommon (borderline unnatural) to use the passive with "start." If you want this meaning, the better verb is "open." It means that the agent will call the meeting to order.

Our meeting tomorrow will be started (opened) by the club president.
