My poem. Your comment appreciated

Embers of wars still glow;
Members of villages remain few.
None vies for an early ferry,
As waning moon sinks into deep valley.

(The backdrop of this poem is historical: late Tang Dynasty in ancient China)

Hello NL888,
Who will comment on your poem when it is historical? You have not asked what you want i.e., meaning of complete poem or one of its stanzas. If you ask clearly then you will get some responses from people here.
Thanks,

Well, thank you for reminding.

1) What about the poem's rhyme?
2) Is the meaning of it clear or dubious?

Hello NL,
Now it is good to think about it and give response. Hoping that some Native speaker will attempt your poem and solve your query.
Thanks,

Is it after a battle? It is still night. It is clear enough for me. Great words here, like glow, vie, wan. Thank you! I think I can understand, but what about the " ferry" . Why do they need to take a ferry? To escape?
