My Poem: "Innocence’s Oxymoron"

Imprinted on the pages of the history of times,
Remain the villains and their witnesses of crimes.
The world’s many eyes have witnessed many;
The world’s plenty hands have touched on plenty.

Overlooked at the time of crime are those who suffer,
Mutter is all the moral can do since evil is tougher.
Only after years pass and does fear disappear,
Those hurt and those damaged suddenly become dear.

Kill is what the ‘elected’ chiefs in command
Do in the name of protecting their land,
Peace and freedom are, of course, the aim;
The wounded and the dead are not to claim.

The evil always find a way to start operating,
Like the way Cain and Abel never stopped debating.
Drilled into our brains is the necessity of violence:
“Peace can only be seized with war’s guidance.”

Poets have already engraved the true meaning
For such faces who are at the very least deceiving.
They are known as the walking contradictions;
Their innocent smiles baring immoral intentions.
