My mother is dead

My mother had been walking down the street, when all of a sudden, a giant piece of clay pottery, travelling with such rapidity, did slice through her skull like a knife slicers through butter. An inquest revealed that the clay had been thrown out of a second story window by a disgruntled spinster, who after having been making clay pottery for her deceased husband all morning, was dissatisfied with the pottery she had been sculpting.

Does it make sense?
