My Mortal Problem with ( The )
Hi there, how are you?
Actually, there is something I am not sure I understand regarding the Definite Article ( the ). I know that using (the) means that there is something indicated, but what I do not know is when I am allowed to omit (the)!!
Let me give you some examples:
* Please advise (the) Prime Contractor to complete the procedures.
* We have received a cd about (the) investment opportunities available for (the) private sector.
* According to article 10 of ( the ) Companies Law.
* Please take action regarding ( the ) salaries and entitlements of the above mentioned.
What do you think of these ( THEs )? Am I allowed to omit them? If yes. why? and if No. Why also?

What Mr. MM is trying to drive across is that
the article "The" can be used to specify a specific object or location. However if the object or location refers to something in general , the article "the" may not be the right one to point that out.
