Hi There,I have a few specific questions about this poem that I can't figure out. I understand the poem but for my assignment I need to figure out the tone and the mood of the poem and how they are conveyed in the poem. I also need to find literary devices and their meanings and the overall theme of the poem. This assignment is due tomorrow so I need help fast!Thanks

i dont know if you just dont understand the poem but this is how i looked at it.

the dukes basically saying hey look thats the picture of my last wife on the wall and it looks realistic (so itsa painting). I callit wonder! Fra Pandolf' worked busily a day and then there it was. She's standing in the picture. do you want to sit down and take a look? i said Fra Pandolf on purpose make no mistake of what i said. No matter who has seen the picture they havent seen the depth and passion in her intense glance, and then they turn to me since im the one who reveals the picture from behind the curtains. ( so the picture is covered up except when looked at) they turn to me as if to ask a question, if they dare. they go to say who painted it but in their thoughts there thinking why does she have such an intense look on her face an how did she die? You wonder? thats okay your not the first one to ask. I'm not the first one to ever make the Duchess happy. Maybe the painter said to the duchess that the cloth is covering her wrist to much as a compliment saying in translation hey your beautifull. The painting cant do her beauty and complextion justice. When the painter would say that she would blush. She had a heart easily impressed and flattered. She liked everything: me (duke) courting her, the sun set, the mule, some fool who broke off a cherry branch for her, ALL these things make her happy. She in return thanks them all-good for her! my 900 year old name should be no comparison to some mule, or tthe sunset along with every other thing tht makes you happy. I would be a fool to stoop to your level and blame you for liking those things. Even if your smart and speak well english, even if i could say it clear to someon like her, "just this or that discusts e" If she listened and let you teach her and not argue or make excuses. You would still be low and not good enough! i make her happy when i walk by but so does everything else (shes giddy). It got worse and continues. I gave commands, and had somone kill her (a hit man.) would you like to get up? (the other man looking at the painting is already standing ready to leave this physco to himself) we will meet the other company downstairs TOGETHER (so the man couldnt tell the other people he had his wife killed). The bosses generosity is plentied guarantee (the duke is talkin to the count's right hand man, so the duke is getting married again to the Count's daugter) he shows the Count's right hand this picture and tells him what happend to his wife as a warning to the Coun't that she better appreciate him and act like he's number on: the saving grace.
