My Last Duchess
Hi,
I'm from England, and I need to write an essay (coursework) comparing three speakers in the poems by Robert Browning: Porphyria's lover, my Last Duchess and the laboratory. I'm fine with comparing Porphyria's lover and my Last Duchess, but I'm having trouble finding themes/ language devives, etc to talk about when comparing my last duchess and the laboratory. I was thinking of saying that both the speakers were idealistic in that the duke in my last duchess has 'killed' the duchess because he wasn't satisfied with her actions... and in the laboratory- she wants to kill all those who seems to have spoken/ had contact with this man she's in love with.... I hope that's right.. but please could you help me because i just can't think of anything to say in my essay.
