My Introduction Essay

I am new to writing and I am still on the brink of discovering my own writing style, however I'd like some body to proofread my opening paragraph, as well as replying with some feedback. Thank you very much your time is much appreciated!

Black to white, from night to day, ignorance to knowledge—how swiftly my innocence and immaturity has left me. My name is XXX XXX XXX XXX, however I acquired the second middle-name, XXX, during my confirmation at the age of thirteen. I was born on February XX in the year 19XX—which would make me XXXteen—at the William Osler Health Center. I was also born and raised Catholic, but I came to realization that ever since I can remember—I searched for more, I questioned the undeniable. I am one of four children in my family, and it can really become a burden. I am currently maintaining a healthy relationship with an amazingly sensible girl. I am unrecognizable to the boy I was only two years ago—not even my family would know who I was if I did not live with them. Everything is happening far too quickly; nobody had warned me.
