"my interest brought me to this competition"

Hi guys,

Is there any wrong if I say

"my interest has brought me to this competition".

I am going to express my interest to my friend about the reason I joined the competition but a bit unsure how to put these together. Do you guys, English speakers think I can say this way? Thanks.

Anonymous Is there any wrong if I say "my interest has brought me to this competition". Nothing's wrong with that, but the verb is usually 'draw': My interest drew me to this competition. Nevertheless, it seems rather too self-evident to bear mentioning.
