My Good Man

Hi.

"Thank you, my good man."

Calling somebody my good man --- is this only used by higher-ups for calling somebody beneath him/her? Would you use that when calling your friends, your co-workers etc.?

Thanks.

NEVER!!! Well, maybe, as a joke. I don't believe I've ever heard it in the U.S. I think some would take offense. Calling somebody "young man" is also offensive, I find, unless it's said by your father in a bad mood.
