Topic:

Scientific research should be carried out and controlled by private companies rather than governments. Do the advantages of this situation outweigh the disadvantages?

Many innovations nowadays are the results of a range of scientific research. Some people argue that these research should be conducted and controlled by private enterprise rather than governments. Although there are disadvantages to research implemented by private companies, the advantages are much greater.
First, some companies would manipulate the researchers to change the data since they want a good outcome of the research to develop into the industry. The aim of the projects that they carried out is to get high profits rather than serving the community as governments do. Moreover, the process of research could jeopardize the environment and threaten some animal's life due to the high amount of research conducted.
Second, the private funds seem to be abundant, which results in the prospect that the high-scale research carried out is realistic. They might flur the researchers to work hard by pay well for them. The companies subsidize investing the cutting edge technology and equipment to develop the projects. For example, in the fight against Covid-19, many pharmaceutical companies are ready to provide money for implementing a range of scientific research. It will also reduce the burden of finance for governments. It is better to get fund from private companies since they will avoid using the tax money of taxpayers in the countries. Moreover, it is more likely to be misused if people invest for personal purposes.
In conclusion, private enterprise should take responsibility to conduct scientific research, and the drawbacks can be limited by raising community consciousness of them.
