my first letter of motivation, check if you have a minute

0Hey there, here is my first try to write a letter of motivation, maybe somebody could take a look at it and give me some comments. Thanks in advance. 02br

00Here's the situation: this letter is to for the board in my local university (KTU) to decide whether me or somebody else should go on the SOCRATES - ERASMUS programme to AAU.02br

00Dear Sirs,02br
02br
00With this letter, I would like to express my interest of participation in SOCRATES - ERASMUS programme to study at 05000(AAU) in Denmark for one semester as an exchange student. 02br

00For the past three and a half years I’ve been studying Computer science with a major (specialization) of Software Engineering at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU). I’ve gained quite a lot of knowledge in the field of my major, which covers both theoretical and practical backgrounds. The next step in my life is pursuing a master’s degree in Software Systems Engineering (SSE) and that’s why I’m going to apply for it at KTU. 02br

00I was very delighted to find out that there is an opportunity to study for one semester as an exchange student at a foreign university. Having looked through 05100’s website I found out that the Master's Programme in SSE is managed by the Distributed Systems and Semantics Group, which is one of the world's leading research groups on tools for analysis, verification and testing based on models for embedded systems. I believe that even one semester would make a significant change to my point of view in overall SSE and broaden my knowledge. That’s why I’ve decided to take the opportunity and apply for the programme.02br

00AAU is known for its pedagogic model of teaching: the problem-based, project-organized model ((PBL) Problem-based Learning). The project work is the central point of the learning process. Studying in this kind of university would strengthen my ability to work in a team and, more importantly, enhance the ability to apply my knowledge (methods and theories) on concrete problems.02br

00I’ve always appreciated the cultural experience that I can gain. In the year 2002 I went to Check Republic and participated in an event, where the youth of Denmark, Check Republic and Lithuania spent 10 days getting to know each other’s cultures and having fun. In the summer of 2004 I was in the United States of America, where I’ve learned how to get by on my own and significally improved my English. 02br

00I would appreciate the opportunity to study at AAU in Denmark for one semester. This would give me an opportunity to furthermore improve my skills in Software Engineering and English language. Moreover, I am confident that my experience in Denmark would be extremely exciting, fun, and valuable for both my studies and overall general development.02br
02br
00Yours faithfully,02br

0Just a couple of details:02br
02br
00Your paragraph "AAU is known for ..." I don't think you need to tell them what they do! Especially not to explain their own terms to them "(PBL....)"02br
