Hello everybody.
I am not sure if I got the figurative meaning of soak up in the following. Would you please help me?
The writer's father is dead.
She says: ' I slipped my hands into my father' s gloves. In the worn pile lining, my father soaked him up.
Does it mean she feels her dad's fingers?
Thanks so much.
" Jamal 1315 Does it mean she feels her dad's fingers? Probably. It is so poorly expressed I hesitate to theorize.

I'll bet that you typed that wrong, and it really was "my fingers soaked him up."
