Thanks for your reply. But I want to know if we use have or has in such sentences. The sentence is just an example to ask the question.
You are absolutely right. My students have just started to learn English and they make such basic sentences.

I have already indicated (granted, in a jocular way) that either verb form is OK in that kind of sentence.

To add to Mister Micawber's reply, whether 'have' or 'has' is used depends on your perception of 'family'. If you think of 'family' as family members, then 'have' is the logical choice. On the other hand, if you view 'family' as a group, '

Briefly, in AmE family usually takes a singular verb, whereas in BrE it can also take a plural verb.

Therefore, either answer is considered grammatically correct. I'd prefer using has in your sentence, though.
