Speech & Pronunciation

My experience of the silent letters

I was trying to imitate his speaking in the audio sample I attached.
He says "Our next obstacle was a shallow pool of water about half a mile across."

It was hard until I found this trick after had repeated after him about 30 times. The trick is: Don't pronounce the 't' in "obstacle" or the 'f' in "of". Otherwise, you cannot catch up with him. Emotion: smile

  • Also, he actually pronounce the t in obstacle.
  • So I don't think it's a good trick to skip it completely.
