Some people argue that the government should spend money only on medical care and education but not on theatres or sport stadiums. Do you agree or disagree?

There are arguments as to whether governors should invest merely on medication and education or on public facilities, namely arts and sporting events. It seems to me that prioritizing them would logically be more sensible than giving value to just one field.

On the one hand, there would be no doubt that how much health and education can have paramount importance in a society. Without healthy citizens who are both physically and mentally in welfare, not only the community encounters economic difficulties, but it also afflicts fabric of society in social, cultural and political terms. Directing funds thus toward medical issues, which has relevance to the productivity of citizens as well as prosperity of nations, would be crucial to be performed by governments. Moreover, education and literacy are cornerstones on which prospects of a society are planned, meaning that upbringing scholars, teachers, scientist and so forth are essential elements of witnessing progress in a country.

On the other hand, it might be sensible to assume facilities such as arts and recreational activities as the least priority in comparison with medication and education. That is to say, arts which refer to theatres, movies and literature altogether, are likely to attract partial investment from private sector and can flourish with less government funding. Furthermore, arts are a key component of culture and seem to be passed down naturally to next generations without government much spending. There is no doubt, also, that recreational activities comprising sporting programs and facilities are likely to benefit citizens socially by improving their quality and standard of living. However, when it comes to prioritizing budget on art and sport facilities and comparing it with medication and education, it seems logical to value medical and educational services more.

In conclusion, although investment in sport facilities and arts are relevant to the standard of living of citizens and should be funded by authorities to some extent, I tend to believe foremost attention should be toward education and health system.
