"My different friend"

Hello,

Could you understand "my different friend"?

What I mean by the phrase is " a friend of mine who is very different from me"

If it's not appropriate, please tell me how to say it better.

Thanks

If your friend is different from you and from most other people, "different" or "odd" would be appropriate, but not exactly polite. " takes care of it.

Otherwise, something like "my friend who is quite different from me...." takes care of it.
