My car has run about a 1000 kilometers

Hi

Could you please help me make this sentence natural?

My car has run about a 1000 kilometers more after the engine oil change warning.

Thanks,

Tom

PS: What about the cars that do not show any warning signs and the driver has to remember when to change the engine oil? Is this OK?

My car has run about a 1000 kilometers more after the engine oil change has been due.
