My bad

Hi.

When do we use the expression my bad?

Do we use when we have done something wrong, or when we have made a mistake?

When I spill coffee on someone's pnats. does it make sense to say Oh, my bad?

Thanks

Dear Hrsanei, When you spill hot coffee on someone's pants - you should say: "Oh Please excuse me, how clumsy of me, here is a towel to dry the mess, let me pay for cleaning your pants. I'm so sorry". When you're 5 minutes late picking up your wife from shopping you say "my bad".
