My Bad.

People sometimes say, "My bad," where I suppose "I did the wrong thing" would fit.

Is my interpretation right?

Yes, that's my interpretation too: "it was my mistake", "I made a mess of it", "I did the wrong thing".

It's slang, of course, but I guess it's not really that different than the Latin tag Mea culpa.
