My 4-year-old child can say "a,b,c,d...".

My 4-year-old child can say "a,b,c,d...".

What I am trying to say is that my child can say the alphabet from A to Z.

1. Does the sentence convey that meaning?
2. Is a full stop outside the closed inverted commas needed?
