Hi,

When someone is talking about a past event and say, I think I definitely saw him that time at a paticular place, can I say "It must was you?"

But you could say "It must have been you."

Any modal verb plus an inflected form is wrong. "must was", "may had", "should written", "would is", etc. are all wrong.

To form the past of the residue (the part left over when you take away the modal), use "have" and the past participle. Watch how these work, all based on "It is you". The first in each pair gives the impression that "you" are presently located near the speaker
