Must include prepositions?

Hi. I happen to think the prepositions are needed for the phrases below. I am sorry for not providing you with complete sentences. I hope you will be able to help me without complete sentences.

1. the road he travels (on??)

2. a place for people to live (in??)

3. the path you walk (on??)

These phrases do not need prepositions if they are used proprerly. Example 1) The road he travels is farther north. 2) A place for people to live would be a good start.
