Must I use a "that" after "implies" or "illustrates"
In scientific writing, the phrase "The results imply that..." appears often in several varients of "This shows that", etc. I get very tired of the word "that" in such phrases. Would it be grammatically incorrect to leave out the "that"?
E.g. "The results show the world will end tomorrow" seems perfectly fine to me (aside from the alarming implications of the results).

You can leave out "that", but it's not that easy sometimes.
An example of being able to do it would be "The results imply there will be two answers" I believe this is valid as well as "The results imply that there will be two answers"
