Must have or must have had

Please check this sentence:

"I told him how now I realize what my mother must have gone through when she became asthmatic."

The narator is going through the same illness his mother had gone through like 50 years ago. he is ill and now he realizes how his mohter must have felt at that time.

"my mother must have gone.." is okay or should it be "my mother must have had gone..." ???
