Hello everyone,
Is it OK to use the following sentence to express certainty in the past?
- They must have been playing well.
Or must it be as follows?
- They must have played well.
Kind regards
JA

Joseph A- They must have been playing well. ...
- They must have played well.
The difference has nothing to do with the degree of certainty. The difference is simply the same as the difference between these two:
They were playing well.
They played well.
