There are many different types of music in the world today. Why do we need music? Is the traditional music of a country more important than the international music that is heard everywhere nowadays?
Today, we can easily witness a range of various styles in music that are from all over the world. People are generally in need of music for different reasons, and I assume that despite the importance of traditional music, international one should be equally recognized for its merits.
To begin with, that music has become a type of relaxation is obvious in this modern world, because very often, most people nowadays have to be swamped in work so much that they start feeling stressed out. Accordingly, listening or dancing to music is clearly the most effective way to be more comfortable and optimistic after a stressful day in workplace. Additionally, it seems to me that music is sometimes a moral lesson which teaches us to value beautiful things surrounding us and appreciate them through its meaningful messages. Some songs about friends such as “Oath” by Cher Lloyd and Becky G, for instance, help us to realize how crucial our friendship is and remind us to cherish it.
Otherwise, I hold the view that national and foreign music is equally important. The former obviously has the role of preserving the culture and tradition of a country. Consequently, were people not to have any appreciation to their traditional music, the uniqueness of their country would probably barely exist. Nevertheless, the reasons above notwithstanding, international music is extremely vital and useful, especially for individuals whose desire to get to know more about the customs and peoples globally is enormous since foreign songs often reflect religious beliefs and cultural features in that country which will enrich a person’s knowledge.
On the whole, people are mostly desirous of music for being relaxed and taught regarding morality. Besides, reasonable as national music is, however, I believe that modern one is still as essential as it is.
