Mushrooms or shrooms?

Does 'shrooms' only imply magic mushrooms? Or can I go to my crocery store and ask 'where can i find the shrooms?'

g rocery. You can ask about shrooms, but I advise against it. The person you're talking to might not know what you're talking about.

(Everything in most grocery stores is well labeled, so I seriously doubt you'll ever have to ask for either shrooms or mushrooms anyway.)

I think in certain contexts, you'll never be misunderstood.

I'm about to order a pizza. What toppings do you want?
Pepperoni or sausage, but no shrooms, please!

Oh my gosh - you have to taste this chicken dish. It's so creamy and I bet there are three different types of shrooms floating around in there.

I would never, EVER assume those example meant anything other
