"Muscle reality into submission"?

Hi there,

I am confused by a sentence in the New Yorker: "Cohen’s dramatic excoriation of Trump, and Trump’s failed diplomacy in North Korea, exposed the President’s inability to muscle reality into submission." What's the meaning of "to muscle reality into submission" in here?

Many thanks!
