Is this sentence correct?

She bought some eggs from the grocery store, and we made sandwiches with them when she returned, but there wasn't enough for everyone, so she went back to the store and purchased more.

Yes. Even so, I wouldn't have switched to the high-class word "purchased" at the end. I would have stuck with "bought", which you already used earlier in the sentence.

I only added the word "purchased" to give the sentence that 10% extra flair of elegance.
