Multiple Choice

Hello everyone,

Could you please help me choose the correct answer to the following question?

Where should I put the new office................?// On the wall, please. Then everyone can see it.

A. calendar B. schedule

C. timetable D. all of them

To this, I chose "D". Please all natives (American and British) participate and give your answers to the question above. I need your help.

I agree with you (American). However, you have to construe "calendar" to mean "calendar of events" or something like that, because regular calendars always go where everyone can see them. Also, I don't know what an office timetable is, but it seems to me that some offices might have one.

Also, I don't know what an office timetable is, but it seems to me that some offices might have one. "Schedule" seems like it's what you would normally hear, though, and I'll bet that's their correct answer.

Right or wrong I would have answered A.

I've never heard anybody say, "Please put the office schedule on the wall", and likewise for "timetable". In fact, "timetable" sounds wrong because a timetable is typically associated with trains or buses, and it's more like a booklet with fine print that you can page through, which does not seem suitable for putting on a wall.
