Muisc

Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Music is generally considered to be so powerful that it is able to connect anyone, regardless of their various culture and generations. To my way of thinking, I completely advocate that music is meant to make people closer.

To begin with, I perceive that music has the role of relaxing and passing loving messages to people, so it hardly discriminates against anyone. Obviously, should a song be meaningful, catchy and impactful, people will certainly love it and keep listening to it which unites them and causes them to have the same favorite song as others. Take BTS who is the hottest boyband in the world as an example. It seems to me that although most of their songs are in Korean, they still have the power to have many people in the globe, even those from religions such as Hindu and Buddhism, enjoying the entire songs because of their valuable meanings. Accordingly, thanks to them, I can easily friend foreigners who are their fans, converse and share interesting information about the group on Facebook that literally connects us.

Notwithstanding, I still emphasize the significant way in getting people in different ages to be closer. Firstly, even though generations have their own tastes in music, they can become close-knit since I have seen several teenagers fond of traditional music and old people delightedly listening to modern music which results in their having something in common. Therefore, young and old individuals, particularly grandchildren and grandparents will find it worthwhile to share their music interests with one another and spend more time with them. Secondly, music TV shows nowadays like The X Factor and American Idols also encourage people, especially aged ones to sing and dance with their families which makes them belong to a true community.

In conclusion, I fully support the view that music truly has the power to bring people closer despite the differences in their ages and culture backgrounds.
