"Much" with a plural noun

Hi. Is it correct to use the word "much" with the plural noun "things" in the following example sentence? Thank you in advance for your help.

Much of the things he has consists of trinkets.

I don't know how a thing can consist of trinkets, but at least the grammar is correct now. Maybe you want
