In the modern technological world, people use electronic devices universally. There are many different kinds of electronic devices, like personal computers, televisions, smart phones, handheld game consoles, laptops, and iPod. We can easily see children and teenagers playing with electronic devices and gadgets everywhere. However, everything has positive and negative effects. It is possible to have too much exposure to technology. Electronic devices are very useful, but they also have many disadvantages.

On one hand, we can see that children as young as 2 years old begin playing with gadgets. The gadgets may positively help them and stimulate their senses and imagination. Some may help to promote listening ability, learning of sounds and also their speaking ability.

On the other hand, a survey shows that children are spending an average of more than 7 hours per day on the electronic devices. However, too much time with eyes glued to a computer screen is never a good thing. Children need to be active, use their imagination and learn how to play with others. The addiction to games may make them get used to the sedentary lifestyles and later cause them to have health issues. For instance, myopia, obesity, poor posture, slouching, and anxiety, as well as others can be directly linked to computer addictive behaviors.

In conclusion, there are ways to decrease the negative impacts of technology on children and teenagers. If young students can use electronic gadgets wisely and not waste time on useless programs and applications, they will benefit greatly from technology.
