Do you mean to say: It is much cold today than yesterday? Or It was much colder yesterday than the day before?

- It was much colder this morning than it was yesterday morning.
(It is now afternoon, and "this morning" is in the past.)

- It is much colder this morning than it was yesterday morning.
(It is morning now.)
