Movie/film/clip/video ?

Hi. As a non-native English user (My native language is by no means under English-kind system), I'm always confused by these terms but didn't have time to study in details but now I think I should study it.

Movie / Film / Clip / Video

What are their differences?

I actually only know that clip usually refers to a short length or anything taken roughly by someone, probably with a mobile device. Film is kind of professional production that is usually long in length and put to cinemas and people will pay to watch it

Really no idea about video and movie. How they are used, when they are used, what they are mostly referring to. I've got no idea

Thanks

'film' and 'movie' are the same. 'film' is a higher register word than 'movie'. Here in North America some people use 'film' only for the more serious kinds of movies, but you can call any movie a film or any film a movie.

  • Reruns are shown on television much later.
