Movie English no.3 - what might have Jon Lord said?

Dear All,

I was watching a documentary about British rock bands that invaded America in 1970s. One of the guests in the movie is Jon Lord from Deep Purple. I'm wondering what he says answering one of the questions. Perhaps someone would be so kind as to hint at what he might be saying:

"I do remember once in San Antonio, Texas. Everyone had gone to the concert hall, Ritchie and I were coming out of adjoining hotel rooms to go down to the lobby to put in to be taken. I was talking to him one minute and the next minute he wasn't there. I turned around and he had stopped in the middle of the corridor and was weeping copious, had just burst into tears. 'What's the matter' I said, and he replied: 'I want to go home. I just want to go home'"

Thanks

Here is a better version: "We were in San Antonio, Texas in 1972, being called down to lobby to go to a gig," recalls Jon Lord. "Ritchie was coming out his room. He walked past me without looking at me, his shoulders were shaking, I thought he was laughing.

  • "Ritchie was coming out his room.

  • I walked round in front of him and he was crying his eyes out.

Copious should be copiously. It means here very much or to a great extent. Another possible word would be profusely.
Is there anything else in the passage you would like to know more about?

Thanks AS. Still, I want to use the words I copied word by word from the video.

Thanks AS and Blue Jay. I'm sorry, I meant to highlight another sentence in that paragraph. For some reason I posted the whole thing without the highlights.

No idea. Do you have a link to the video so we can view it?

I'll try to find it online.

Do you think we might be talking about some kind of cart that is taken by the crew members when a band is on a tour?

The only thing that springs to mind would be the car, perhaps to take them to the venue.

From the other site, we have some context. So it is likely this:

Ritchie and I were coming out of adjoining hotel rooms to go down to the lobby to get in the car to be taken (to the venue).

Thanks, I think you are right. If I find the video online, I'll post it here.
