Vocabulary

Movie?

Hi,

Can you use the word "movie" to refer to a film that is 20-30min long?

And would you use it to refer to one that will not necessarily be shown in cinemas?

Thanks.

Hi, Yes, you can. The term is used quite loosely. The expression 'a video' is also quite common.

Hi

In UK English you can also just say "a short"..

- The film club is good value - you get to see a feature film and they often start with a short
