Movement of hand

Hi,

How do you frame this sentence about moving your arms randomly?

I made a random motion of my right hand and accidentally punched him.

I moved my hand randomly and accidentally punched him.

Is there a better way to frame it?

Want to convey that the movement of hand was random and jerky and NOT controlled.

Thanks,
