Movement & motion

0 According to my culture and language, 'movement' and 'motion' mean the same thing. And I checked the dictionary about the meanings of them , but I still get confused. The following are the meanings of these two words copied from a Longman Dictionary: 02br
001) motion: the process of moving or the way that someone or something moves, 02br

0Jack, they mean the same thing, but collocate differently-- you'll just have to learn where each one works. Your first sentence is OK but a little odd; the second is wierd. Planes 'fly', they don't 'move', so neither collocates well with plane unless we are speaking of an unusual movement/motion: 02br
