Today, you will be asked to work on reading test items instead of grammar. Based on the test results, you can move up or move down.( I mean if students do well on the test, they can take advanced class, if not , they will have to start from begging levels)

I suppose that doesn't matter, as long as the students are familiar with the class routines.

Do you mean that you are going to be teaching the proper strategy for analyzing a test question, or simply, "Today you are going to take a test!" ??

I mean I will give them  reading test papers and students will have to answer the questions on the papers as a way to familiarize themselves with a certain test format.

If the meaning of the test item is not clear, can I say ' test papers'?  I mean  I will give them reading test papers and answer the questions. Then, what could be the best word for it?

You seem to be saying that the subject matter in the test questions is not important. The purpose of the exercise is to become familiar with the format.

So then how do you evaluate their work so as to decide if they move up or down?

(I need to understand this in order to suggest the wording.)
