I am trying to write motivation letter for scholarship for studies. I used Jasmina letter and adapted it. I am still not sure how my letter sounds. Could you please go thru it and tell me your opinion?
Dear Sir,
I am writing to apply for the scholarship of the Government of Japan.
I go through training at the Tomsk State University, the History Department, Department of International Relations from September 2011. My degree focuses on study of foreign countries, their history and languages. At the moment I am studying several languages: English, Chinese, Japanese.
This summer I had the opportunity to study abroad. During my month stay in London, I got to meet people from different parts of the world, attend classes from native speakers and got to know a culture of different countries. It was a very rewarding time, which gave me a new impetus to development. I also had training in the Tomsk Department of International Relations and Regional Relations. These professional experiences have been very rewarding and educational. I have learned to deal with several challenges and have deepened my knowledge on the discipline that I ve studied.
At the moment I am writing coursework on "Relations between Russia and Japan in the late XIX - early XX". The focus of the project is the study of the positive and negative criteria for these relations. In addition, I have attended many international open conferences, that are dealing with the subject of my work. I have a passion for the study of language and am especially interested in further developing my skills to communicate with foreigners.
Ideally, once I get my bachelor's degree, I would like to enter in Japanese State University, and obtained a master's degree there. Also, I very interested in the study of the cultural heritage of Japan. Based on this, I would like to participate in the "student. Scholarship Government of Japan," which would improve and increase my knowledge and practical experience towards my mission.
Thank you very much for considering my request. I look forward to your positive response.
Sincerely yours,
Rita
