Mould or shape

Hi

Which word is better/more natural here, shape or mould?

It's a mother's responsibility to shape the head of a newborn.

Seems like a cultural thing, GPY. In our culture, when a baby is born, different mothers use different methods to shape the head of the baby. See this please.

The Olmecs had the practice of deforming the heads of their babies. You can see it in their sculptures and skulls.

The technical term is "artificial cranial deformation." Apparently, it used to be a rather common practice in many cultures.
