Motyvation letter for university

Hi,
Can you please take a look at my motivation letter and tell me what you think about it, i want to know what are you thinking of my letter, what is missing, what could or must be changed. I also would like some advices on expressions as English is not my native language some of my expressions can be dull and inappropriate for this kind of letter.

Here goes:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to apply for the top up studies of management in hospitality in University of Central Lancashire starting September 2012. My goal is to learn more about hotel management, i am also planing work while studying so that i can master my hotel management skills.


To be fair I did not choose this career because it was a dream of my life, i chose it because i thought it would be fun to learn about hotels and tourism, and only half way through my course i realized that i really would like to make it my career. As i graduated from collage i got myself a job i a hotel as a porter, that was my first actual introduction to a hotel. After a while i knew that this is the field i want to work and have a successful career in. Since then i have worked in several hotels, now i am working as a front office clerk. Over the time i worked in those hotels is saw several different ways of managing a hotel, i now have an opinion on how i could manage a hotel when i become a manager, however i also realized that i still have a lack of education and practice for this job.


I never was amongst top students in my college nor school, however i have a passion for hotels therefore i am ready to give my best to succeed in graduating from your university and achieving successful career.
The main reason why i want to pursue a career in hotel industry is that i am fascinated by its discipline and etiquette regarding the clients of a hotel, its set of rules and regulations that creates an ideal system which holds the entire business together and the unique team work that brings together every member of the staff for the same purpose – to create a home for each individual separately considering their needs and requests.


I chose University of Central Lancashire because i think this particular course best fits to my goals, i also did a little research, viewed a lot of reviews and comments and i really think i would fit in perfectly in your little community.
In conclusion I would like to say that I like to take responsibility and to work as part of a team. I am eager to gain new experiences and in my opinion this program is the best way to achieve that. I am positive that the University of Central Lancashire would be an excellent start for an ambitious hospitality career.
