To whom it may concern:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a Bulgarian high school student and my name is Stanimir Ivanov. I am writing this letter to explain my motivation for applying for the IBMS programme offered in The Hague University of Applied Sciences. I believe that my background, my passion for work and determination to succeed will make me an excellent candidate for a professional business course.
Living in Bulgaria the past few years has made it really hard for me to continue my studies. I was lucky enough to find a high school where I could develop my personality to a higher level and taste what mysteries science has to offer. After obtaining my secondary school diploma, however I would like to find education based on a more practical foundation. I couldn’t find such a specialization in my home country so I turned to Europe and after a thorough search on the Internet and a few meetings with agents and representatives of different universities I turned to the Netherlands and specifically The Hague University of Applied Sciences. My main motives to this preference were the international environment in Holland and ethnic tolerance of the Dutch people, the long term tradition of worldwide trading, business and economy throughout the history of the country and the relatively high standard of student life compared to other European countries.
As a man on the doorstep of real life I am open to new ideas and willing to strive for a better society. I am fascinated of other cultures and really enthusiastic at the prospect of seeing the world. This enthusiasm can easily be explained with my interests of psychology and other behavior sciences. I’ve always been keen to know how other people think and live, what motivates them, what keeps them going and what makes them the people they are. This, however, conflicted with my main interests in mathematics, physics and strategy games. In the context of the modern global civilization and open market I found a way to combine the things I love to do in an International Business career. In the years I’ve trained athletics and martial arts I’ve built willpower strong enough to keep me going through the tough challenges that lie ahead. Having considered all of this I thought that this sort of career would best fit my personality as well as give me the excitement I want. It will also give me the opportunity to experience as much as I can of what the world has to offer. The most important thing I would like to do is helping change society and economy for the better and doing my part, as a person, in history.
I see The Hague University of Applied Sciences as a starting point of my career and an as a place where I can acquire a lot of new skills and continue developing my old ones. If I’m given the chance and the right setting I can also help build the future of the university together with other students and teachers. I am highly motivated to take part in the university as it is something completely new and challenging unlike nothing I have experienced so far in my life. Working with students from all over the world is almost as important to me as the qualification I will obtain. I am also interested in sports and will be eager to join any sport societies or groups at campus.
My eyes are always set out for the future and after graduating I hope I can find work in the field of automotive industry or in new challenging, emerging markets such as East Asia and South America. As any passionate young man I would like to see many different things and acquire a lot of knowledge in new areas. The most exciting thing to me is the different challenges sill to come because a long journey is a lifetime of experience.
Thanks in advance to anyone who took the time to help me
